There is a WHO project for an implementation guide to represent COVID vaccination certificates.

Considering that the goal is similar and that a lot of this stuff could be used for international travel probably worth considering that and try to align

Interesting Michele. Were these the standards people on the SHC calls during the connectathon or another group? If not the same who is the other group? I would agree alignment is necessary.

One of the core goals that differentiates SMART Health Cards today is representing any clinical data (bound to identity) in a standardized way, not limited to COVID use cases or to vaccines / lab results. It's the "use FHIR for what FHIR does well" approach (but to be fair, there are trade-offs here; our QRs are larger than they would be if we relaxed this constraint).

My hope is that this work is part of a broader story about consumer access and empowerment, building on the success we've seen with SMART on FHIR for access.

Hi Michele, we started a similar comparison at MITRE but it lives on our internal network. Our network does not allow access to google docs. I've been trying to figure out a place to put it longer term. Can I send it to you for review?
