Looking ahead to COVID boosters, does making the dose number extension an integer data type make sense? I'm not actually sure how boosters are tracked from a dose numbering perspective. Would that be Pfizer dose 3? or Phase booster #1?

It's a fair question; I'm not sure how much we should design ahead of clear-cut requirements at this stage. We can always add extensions or re-model as requirements emerged. (That said, if you have a concrete proposal at this point I'm happy to entertain.)

Yeah, I'm a fan of the YAGNI principle. This was something some folks brought up internally at Epic, but I'm happy with integer for now. We were thinking about imagined future scenarios, not something that needs a solution now.
