Stream: R4A/B/R5 Discussion
Topic: Has the ballot opened?
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 14:34):
I'm trying to put in a Jira ticket for ProdCharacteristic and I don't see it (I also don't see R4B in the Versions)
Jose Costa Teixeira (Mar 12 2021 at 14:59):
Is that a thing?
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 14:59):
Jira tickets for Ballots? Absolutely
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 15:00):
And I'm fairly certain that R4B is a thing
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 12 2021 at 15:04):
Datatypes
Rik Smithies (Mar 12 2021 at 15:05):
re ProdCharacteristic itself, it is intended to be deprecated. I think DeviceDefinition still uses it but I have a Jira somewhere that seeks to change that and replace with a code/value pair thing.
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 12 2021 at 15:05):
I didn't add R4B to versions as my understanding is that R4B is just going to become the new 'R4', though we can discuss that.
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 15:05):
It would be good if R4B was there for the ballot for clarity
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 12 2021 at 15:07):
Ok. Added R4B. SHould show up in 5 minutes or so
Rik Smithies (Mar 12 2021 at 15:10):
https://jira.hl7.org/browse/FHIR-30274 may be of interest. If that happens, ProdCharacteristic is gone completely
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 15:11):
So the fact that it was just added is quite confusing.
Rik Smithies (Mar 12 2021 at 15:12):
well it was just added in the same way that R4B has just been added. It has existed for several years
David Pyke (Mar 12 2021 at 15:12):
So, do you want comments on it?
Rik Smithies (Mar 12 2021 at 15:15):
happy to have them, but since I plan to remove it, assuming that happens, changes to it may not be worth raising. Unless you want to keep it alive, your comments may be moot. I didn't want it in R4B, but it had to be there because it has not been removed from DeviceDefinition.
