Hello
Previously the AIMS platform and the ERSD website to download the ERSD file definitions were not accessible from outside the US. This has now been corrected and is accessible from outside the US.

Case reporting in the US goes to state and local public health agencies. States then send de-identified data on to the CDC. There is existing CDA case reporting where EHRs send eICRs (intial case reports) to the APHL AIMS platform where they are confirmed to be reportable and then sent on to the appropriate public health agencies. The eCR Now FHIR app uses the FHIR API to be able to integrate with EHRs now, but connects-up to the same APHL AIMS platform with CDA to integrate with all of the rest of the existing infrastructure.
