The US Core PractitionerRole.code is bound to the NUCC Health Care Provider Taxonomy. Contrary to that, the PlanNet PractitionerRole.code uses its own value set (with the Required binding) which requires additional cross mapping.
Could both be harmonized to use the same value set? Or if someone has done mapping from NUCC to this VS and may share?

I have been looking into this recently. There is some history here and the decision to require a different set of codes was made on purpose and presumably agreed to by the US Core team (At least that is what I believe I heard second hand). It is certainly worth revisiting. Thanks for adding the ticket. It will be reviewed.
