Hi - Is there any place in Practitioner or PractitionerRole resource where we can indicate practitioner is being Board Certified for a given Specialty. Looked into all detail in PlanNet IG but could not find any place. Do we need to define an extension for this? Please help.

Are you looking for something in addition to the Practitioner.qualification? The Da Vinci Plan net IG has several constraints and an extension on qualification.

Yaa but none of these are kind of boolean/indicator which can specify whether practitioner is being certified for given specialty -

Is that different than what is captured in the practitioner-qualification extension status?

Hi @Corey Spears Thanks for your response.

It is different when a practitioner is specialized in something and active but not board certified. How to map this?

Binding to QualificationStatusVS is required , which means we can not add new value like 'Board Certified'. Thoughts?

Can I get any suggestion for this?

Could qualification.issuer provide a link to the board that issued the certification?

Thanks for input @Sean Mahoney . I checked and looks like issuer is not equal to certifier. And even we do not get the board name in our data. Its just an indicator which we receive from source which tells whether particular specialty is being certified or not .

Should we add another extension to specialty/qualification to indicate this?

Chetan, I will discuss with the larger group and come up with a solution.

Chetan, We discussed and Board Certified requires more then just Y/N. It requires who issued the certification. For that you can use the certificaiton.issuer.

Thanks @Sean Mahoney , that is for sure. I'm looking to accommodate a scenario when we don't get issuer name and still want to capture if particular specialty is being certified or not? This is I am finding hard to adjust. How about adding an extension to just capture this?
