Hello all. We provide Direct Messaging as a service. Some of our customers have informed us that, upon sending Direct Messages to others who have Direct Messaging as a part of their EHR systems, the messages are not received because the receiving EHR systems require the messages to have C-CDA attachments.
Do the HL7 C-CDA specifications allow for external documents to be included within a C-CDA document with encoding such as Base64? Can you direct me to where I can find the appropriate specifications for this? Is this something that can be done with unstructured data?
