Topic: Extensions and Valuesets
David Hay (Apr 07 2020 at 21:33):
Is it possible to have a single extension definition, then when used in a profile can specify a different ValueSet? For example Australia has an extension for Grounds for concurrent supply. Suppose we wanted to use that extension - but with a different set of concepts. If you can - then how do you configure that in sushi?
Grahame Grieve (Apr 07 2020 at 21:35):
no because that's a required binding
David Hay (Apr 07 2020 at 22:30):
What if the binding wasn't required - could you do it then?
David Hay (Apr 07 2020 at 22:40):
ie is it allowed in FHIR...
Grahame Grieve (Apr 07 2020 at 22:48):
yes
David Hay (Apr 07 2020 at 22:52):
ta. Question for sushi then - do you support this? Need to be able to say in a profile: I want to use this extension, but I want that ValueSet?
David Hay (Apr 07 2020 at 22:53):
sorta being able to define 2 extensions with the same url (I should try that :) )
David Hay (Apr 08 2020 at 00:04):
Yep - that worked just fine, and passed the IG published as well!
Chris Moesel (Apr 09 2020 at 12:37):
@David Hay -- looks like you found it out already, but yep -- SUSHI supports this. You just reference the extension value using the correct path syntax and set the binding (like you set the binding on any other coded element).
