The base Claim spec requires Claim.type (1...1), but there isnt an X12 mapping for this field. Can someone provide some information on how this field should be used for Prior Authorizations?
Do the same claim rules for the claim type apply to prior authorizations?

the example binding is a broad category of the Prior Authorization, so it should be set to one of those values that best represents what is being requested. You are correct that the current mappings don't use this field.
