@Pat Taylor , @Amol Vyas , @Nagarjuna Sanivarapu , @Igor Sirkovich , @Shailesh Prabhu, @Zak Guler, @Suma Vishnumoorthy

This is in reference to the 2 identifiers that are in Patient resource , MedRecNum & PatAcctNum

These identifier data is unique for each member for a specific claim.

These values keep changing every time a new claim is created for a member and seems this data does not truly serve the purpose as a patient identifier

These 2 identifiers are categorized as “Must Support”. Please let us know what should be the guidance on this and if we really need to update Patient data every time we receive a claim

@Suma Addagadde Hi Suma, the recommendation is to map MedRecNum & PatAcctNum to EOB.supportingInfo instead of to the Patient Resource. They will be marked as MS, meaning if you have the data it should be provided. However, this solution prevents you from updating Patient data every time we receive a claim. Does that work for you? @Amol Vyas
