This Connectathon is completely free to everyone, HL7 members and non-HL7 members. We will have many of the major payers and state Medicaid agencies in attendance with test servers. We will also have test scripts and reference implementations available. We look forward to virtually seeing many of you at the event.

Hi @Mark Roberts and @Amol Vyas - We are excited to be participating as a client in the connectathon tomorrow and Thursday. Is the use of Touchstone required? recommended? I watched the webinar from 11/11 but it wasn't very clear on the expectation. thanks!

Touchstone is to test the server, so no need for it if you are a client

Correct

@Mark Roberts Report from CareEvolution client - connected successfully with

  • Humana - including refresh tokens
  • UPMC Health plan - an issue with refresh tokens
  • Cigna - including refresh tokens

Failed with:

  • Aetna: requires PKCE
  • 1UpHealth: does not support launch/patient
  • BCBS Associates: error in the auth screen, never got answers back about it
(LOTs better then in all prior connectathons, thanks everyone)

another report from CareEvolution...

Thank you to all who organized and attended. This connectathon definitely helped us test our fhir implementation of Carin and our Smart auth flow. We found a few issues and will be able to improve as a result.

I appreciated the sessions dedicated to talking about the CarinBB IG, examples, touchstone testing, and the Smart App Launch session. I especially appreciated that the Smart App Launch session was extended to help clarify the scopes and patient selection flow. The sessions discussing the CarinBB IG and showing examples were informative, I wish they were a bit longer and provided opportunity for more discussion.

It seems like the client server testing during the connectathon was more focused on authentication between servers. There were quite a few folks attending that were just trying to understand this piece, authenticating/handshaking/patient selection flow, so it was good for everyone to have a chance to learn and work this out during connectathon. However, that did not leave a lot of time for discussion/feedback as to the data exchange itself.

I did get an opportunity to test our current implementation of the CarinBB using a couple of the aegis touchstone tests, they were helpful in pointing out issues we still have with supporting required EOB elements and coding system uri's.

The demo's provided a good overview of how different apps ingest and show the data.

thanks again for hosting the connectathon.

Great feedback @Melissa Benzie. Thank you! We're glad you enjoyed the Connectathon. + @Mark Roberts and @Amol Vyas so they can capture this feedback and work to improve our next Connectathon in January at HL7.
