Topic: IPA progress
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 01 2021 at 15:19):
Hi all,
In IPA work we're now mapping any sets of base profiles that we foresee would be in the scope for patient access sometime in the future. There is a table on https://confluence.hl7.org/display/PC/IPA+2021-09-01. That table was just created during the call, but my view is that the columns will be initialized from the set of resources present in the US Core definition. We would then like to see which of those profiles are supported across several jurisdictions.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 01 2021 at 15:21):
Regarding that, would anyone of you be in a position to help filling up the table when the columns are in place? @Espen Stranger Seland or @Øyvind Aassve for Norwegian profiles? @Michael Johansen or @Jens Villadsen for Danish profiles? Anyone for Swedish profiles?
Jens Villadsen (Sep 02 2021 at 08:16):
@Mikael Rinnetmäki I've updated the table with the danish input
Jens Villadsen (Sep 02 2021 at 08:16):
and I'll ask the DK FHIR SIG to have focus on the listed resources
Øyvind Aassve (Sep 06 2021 at 20:40):
@Mikael Rinnetmäki - sorry Mikael, I do not seem to get access to your Confluence page.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 07 2021 at 04:13):
Not my page. It's the whole HL7 Confluence installation. :-(
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 07 2021 at 04:16):
@Jens Villadsen that might be premature. We're now only gathering info on what's supported and not in different initiatives, and we'll try to harmonize and make a selection once we have that info.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 07 2021 at 19:43):
@Øyvind Aassve the HL7 Confluence is back in operation.
Jens Villadsen (Sep 07 2021 at 21:44):
@Mikael Rinnetmäki we might as well focus on the resources for IPA in DK Core
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 04:09):
Right, good to know. But first we need to understand which are the resources in IPA. :-)
For that we're making this initial mapping of what's supported and what's going to be supported in different jurisdictions.
Øyvind Aassve (Sep 08 2021 at 08:13):
Sorry @Mikael Rinnetmäki , I missed out on the part of the meeting where this was discussed last time. As you have already well documented on your page we have developed a number of national base profiles, and we are in the process now of increasing this number quite a bit. However, our base profiles are open without any use of "must-support" and therefore in a way somewhat different than the IPA profiles. Use of must-support will go under the umbrella of domain profiles and we still have a lot of discussion and trying out to do about the development of these - for example what is a good size and context for a domain . For now we are thinking that some will be more general (and IPA-like), while others can express quite complex reusable structures for more specific domains. As of which resources to develop here is still very much on the drawing board.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 15:53):
@Jens Villadsen The table is now properly initialized and moved to page https://confluence.hl7.org/display/PC/International+Patient+Access+specification+comparison. Would you care to fill it again, based on Danish info?
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 16:23):
@Øyvind Aassve The purpose of the table is to first gather a view on which kind of content there is that patients could potentially get. The next step would be to see where there is enough overlap between countries / jurisdictions that would benefit from harmonization.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 16:25):
To me, as an app developer, harmonization would mean "If a FHIR server claims it conforms to IPA basic profile or a more detailed IPA profile, this is the set of content you're expected to get, as further documented by this profile...".
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 16:25):
I see US Core being one such profile.
Mikael Rinnetmäki (Sep 08 2021 at 16:26):
And we might have a Nordic IPA profile at some point.
Jens Villadsen (Sep 09 2021 at 20:41):
@Mikael Rinnetmäki - done
Jens Villadsen (Sep 09 2021 at 20:42):
@John Moehrke - image.png care to throw some links to those IG's?
John Moehrke (Sep 10 2021 at 12:20):
what do you want to know?
My main point is that these other resources should be driven by other use-case analysis. where IPA should be driven by use-cases of access to clinical data. If we make IPA into an access to everything, then we have not really provided any Implementation Guidance.
These three are available in IG format
- MHD - https://profiles.ihe.net/ITI/MHD
- PDQm - https://profiles.ihe.net/ITI/PDQm
-
PIXm - https://profiles.ihe.net/ITI/PIXm
The others have not yet been converted to IG format -
mCSD - https://www.ihe.net/uploadedFiles/Documents/ITI/IHE_ITI_Suppl_mCSD.pdf
- PMIR - https://www.ihe.net/uploadedFiles/Documents/ITI/IHE_ITI_Suppl_PMIR.pdf
- SVCM - https://www.ihe.net/uploadedFiles/Documents/ITI/IHE_ITI_Suppl_SVCM.pdf
Lastly, to understand all of these one might be best to start with a higher level whitepaper
Jens Villadsen (Sep 10 2021 at 13:23):
I just needed the links ;)
