Since there is no Zoom-dedicated stream, I thought I would try here:
There seems to be some setting in the meetings that prevents users to change their own names. This causes confusion because co-chairs form one WG show up as "Co-Chair" in the meeting of another WG, and also this wastes time while the owner of the current meeting has to untangle the names... Is it possible to change that setting?

The meeting host (host) selects Manage Participants from the basic menu at the bottom of the window.
Select ” Details ” at the bottom right and uncheck ” Allow participants to change their name “.

Is there a way to default to "Allow" when people create a new meeting? I assume that is the preferred setting for the majority of calls...

When you start a new meeting, if you select participants across the bottom menu, and then select the three dots on bottom right next to Unmute All

What I was looking for is in the future not to have to do this at the start of every meeting - just have is set to "allow" when the meting is "created" (I don't know what "created" means in Zoom, just that there is a single URL in recurring meetings that starts each call). I understand that it is probably not worth the effort to change for existing calls/meetings.

When setting up Zoom accounts, I purposely set the accounts such that names couldn't be changed based on numerous emails over the years of inappropriate names used when Work Group's used FreeConferenceCall.com.

So, I can modify the setting to allow for names to be changed, but know you may get inappropriate names appearing in your call.
