Topic: Source editor in confluence
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 14:42):
Is there a way to disable the WYSIWYG editor for Confluence pages?
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 14:46):
@Joshua Procious ?
Joshua Procious (Sep 16 2019 at 14:47):
Does the page have an additional macro on it for WYSIWYG editing or just a standard page?
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 14:47):

Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 14:49):
There's just a single edit button, and when I click that it goes to full-page WYSIWYG.
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 14:51):
When it's in view mode, the ellipsis button in the upper right has an option to "View Source," but the popup that opens contains formatted text rather than source.
Lloyd McKenzie (Sep 16 2019 at 16:02):
The popup contains source for me... That's what I use to put in the div markers that hide content that's already happened.
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 16:09):
Weird. I wonder what I'm doing wrong.
Michael Donnelly (Sep 16 2019 at 16:10):
Are there some parts of the page that are editable by everyone and some that are restricted?
Joshua Procious (Sep 16 2019 at 16:23):
Restrictions do exist. However, almost all pages should be view-able by anyone and having an account and being logged in should get you edit rights. Can you provide a screenshot to verify we're not talking about the same thing between "source" and "formatted" text please?
Lloyd McKenzie (Sep 16 2019 at 20:27):
This is what I click on to edit the raw content (top-right):

Lloyd McKenzie (Sep 16 2019 at 20:28):
And this is what the edit view looks like:

Joshua Procious (Sep 17 2019 at 11:05):
@Michael Donnelly are you seeing the same thing that Lloyd is?
Michael Donnelly (Sep 17 2019 at 13:31):
Viewing the page:

Joshua Procious (Sep 17 2019 at 16:49):
@Michael Donnelly please log out and back in. You should now be able to see the double carrot icon when editing Confluence pages. (you will not if you do not edit the page first). If you have any questions, please let me know.
Michael Donnelly (Sep 17 2019 at 18:07):
That did it - thanks @Joshua Procious !
Joshua Procious (Sep 17 2019 at 18:35):
Fantastic. You're welcome!
Eric Haas (Sep 20 2019 at 04:59):
Btw there is an menu option to insert markdown into confluence for those of us who would rather write in our text editor of choice
