Is the relationship between FHIR mapping and StructureMap biunivocal ?
or are there differences in what they can represent?

That's a new word for me :) When you say FHIR mapping, do you mean FHIR mapping language?

I don't think the mapping language includes any of the metadata the StructureMap resource has to support discoverability. Also, the resource has the ability for arbitrary extensions and I don't think the mapping language would support those.

For all practical purposes, I would consider them to have the same scope. There are „documentation“ fields in StructureMap that can’t be represented in a FHIR Mapping Language file.

For the metadata on StructureMap it depends on your engine what you can expose the the mapping file.

yes, 1:1 correspondence between FHIR mapping language/features and the content of the StructureMap
