Jean Duteau will address current data provenance and matching problems and discuss support for requesting an update to the Companion Guide to add guidance on how to use the new extension that SDWG will be spearheading .

This topic will be discussed further in the 8/27 SDWG meeting from 10am - noon ET. We request for implementers with use cases that would benefit from using this alternateIdentifier extension.

If you have a use case for using an alternate identifier in CDA documents, please plan on participating in this discussion next week in SDWG. We also will review where the alternateIdentifier extension is needed, based on the envisioned Use Cases.
