We are collecting date of death/injury modifier for a death record with values like Actual Date of Death, Approximate Date of Death, Presumed Date of Death, Court Determined Date of Death. I could not locate a property to map this value in VRDR death record.

These are fields that will be defined in the MDI IG but are not in VRDR IG. Would it help to use the definitions from the other IG?

@Sirisha Sathyamurthy as Kate mentions they aren't currently in the VRDR IG, which is driven by the fact that they aren't reported to NCHS; given that, those fields can currently be skipped when creating a VRDR record (though this may change if at some future point NCHS becomes interested in that information or if it's used for inter-jurisdictional exchange).

It would nice if it can be included to the VRDR IG as an optional value. We are interested to hear if other jurisdictions collect this data.

Consider modifying the terminology binding for the DeathDate.method from a fixed value '414135002 - Estimated' to a value set containing the concepts Actual Date of Death, Approximate Date of Death, Presumed Date of Death, Court Determined Date of Death.
