Topic: New IG templates - needs latest publisher
Lloyd McKenzie (May 16 2021 at 23:38):
If your IG is building with the 'current' template, I've just pushed a change that means you'll need the most recent IG publisher (i.e. 1.1.72). This new release does a few things:
- adds next/previous and top/bottom links to every page in the IG
- adds links to CSV and Excel representations of all structure definitions
- adds support for a 'dragon' class for divs which will allow you to put 'here be dragons' sections in your IGs in the same manner we have them in the core spec
- ensures that Provenance artifacts that are included in the IG to provide history don't show up in the artifacts list or table of contents
If you have any issues, please make sure you're running 1.1.72 or newer before reporting them.
John Moehrke (May 17 2021 at 12:54):
I can confirm everything but the dragon. I didn't get the dragon.

Eric Haas (May 18 2021 at 00:21):
can we turn off these "features"
Lloyd McKenzie (May 18 2021 at 00:55):
Outside HL7, I suppose. Within HL7, these seem like things that should be consistent across all IGs. If you don't think they should be present, we can certainly discuss why.
Eric Haas (May 18 2021 at 02:25):
I first need to see how the next/previous works and looks - but my presumption is it may not be appropriate stylistically across all guides.
Lloyd McKenzie (May 18 2021 at 02:44):
It's driven by the ToC and by the order of tabs. All HL7 IGs should have that?
Brett Marquard (May 18 2021 at 11:57):
The 'next/previous' makes me smile, it reminds me of the web in 1990s. Where are these features vetted?
Grahame Grieve (May 18 2021 at 14:05):
I think, @Lloyd McKenzie that a linear order is not and should not be a requirement for HL7 IGs
Grahame Grieve (May 18 2021 at 14:05):
I'm fine if there is one, but not that there must be one
Brett Marquard (May 18 2021 at 14:06):
So Grahame, should one person make these decisions on the fly?
Grahame Grieve (May 18 2021 at 14:06):
though there might be limearity in the overview/documentation
Grahame Grieve (May 18 2021 at 14:06):
no. not at all.
Brett Marquard (May 18 2021 at 14:06):
Whew, I agree. Let's back them all out and put some process around IG template changes.
John Moehrke (May 18 2021 at 16:56):
you can tie your builds to a specific version of the template. stay in the past if you like.
John Moehrke (May 18 2021 at 16:56):
and, these improvements were the work of a committee, not just one person.
