Just wondering how to go about getting a single or a cohort of participants from an EMR/similar system to an EDC system via FHIR. Is there a suitable resource that would capture study related info (e.g. whether the participant should go to control/intervention arm etc.) and support this sort of workflow?

Look at ResearchSubject. It captures the linkage between a Patient and a particular ResearchStudy. If you want the full cohort, look at Group.
