Yes, that's the goal is to use the SMART back-end authentication, however, we haven't done any connectathons on that aspect. It's on the roadmap, but still focusing on evaluation and reporting plumbing.

Interopion has a MedRec client built that does a submit data call. They pass the authorization headers to the call, but our implementation just ignores them for now. Would be easy enough to integrate with an identity and authorization provider to verify, just haven't built that out yet.
