I pasted this in a thread above but I want it to be clearly noticeable.
Today the Patient Empowerment WG hosted a presentation by security researcher (white-hat hacker) Alissa Knight. Her presentation was clear and the discussion was robust and focused though wide-ranging.
Toward the end @Keith Boone was able to arrive, and the discussion (with strong input from @Ryan Harrison ) moved into what we (HL7) probably needs to do about these realizations. They proposed some joint meetings between our WG and Security, perhaps drafting recommendations to the Policy Action Committee.
At this point I'm over my head so I ask that savvier people chime in, refine, expand.
