Topic: Open Cerner Endpoints Incoming

Thought it was worth a PSA. Cerner soon following in the open.epic.com model and listing all endpoints publically, as well as enabling automatic access to patient auth apps holistically (instead of HCO-by-HCO gatekeeping)

yoooooooo hell yeah @Cerner light it up and turn them on another EHR finally following in the http://open.epic.com footsteps and enabling patient apps to just work https://groups.google.com/g/cerner-fhir-developers/c/Yf6sxjg0I7U

That's such a relief

These enhancements will enable automatic connections between all registered Consumer Apps and active Providers’ Systems
This isn't 100% clear to me. Will the connections be "enabled"' meaning on by default, or just in a state where active providers can control them?
Brendan Keeler (Nov 03 2021 at 01:36):
The previous process was HCO owned and maintained activation.
The current process as of Oct 1 suggests a consumer app can gain access to any provider by emailing a Cerner rep: "As of October 1, 2021, connections between registered Consumer Apps and Providers’ Systems will be established upon the Consumer App developer’s request." (the link links to a Cerner email), suggesting they've centralized the process.
So I imagine the future process being open, although there's a slightly chance it's something different/
