Hey @Jan Oldenburg and @Maria D Moen, your project-topic Patient Contributed Data may want to be aware that the subject came up in passing recently in the thread Clarifications from ONC regarding FHIR certifications, which is about potentially important distinctions around the term "must support".

See the first message in the thread. You may or may not want to wade through the whole discussion (which @Grahame Grieve is concerned about too, along with @Josh Mandel, with important contributions from @Steve Posnack), but certainly search for "patient contributed" and "patient-submitted" in the thread. @Drew Torres and @Jenni Syed of Cerner are key voices in the thread.

Example: Jenni's message

If ONC states we have to be able to show that we can return Provenance data with the agent.who as Patient, that would mean something had to be able to write data with that agent type.

And Drew saying near top of thread

... provenance must support patient as agent.who. Which means we must now support patient contributed data through the API.

I believe you'll want to wade through the whole discussion to get some context. This is around a contested part (likely unintentional) of recent ONC clarifications and regulations for 21CC
