Take an instance of profiling a Composition Resource, following are well understood to capture information:
Composition.author - the practitioner who has created the composition
Composition.attester - the organization who attested it
Which element would best suitable for storing the identification of the server / repository/ platform from which the data is received?

If it is written by A, then attested by B, who send it to C, who then send it to you, then C is who you are asking for. I expect that that would go in Provenance.
