Topic: choiceColunn for group tables?

The itemControl description on the rendering page says, "When groups are rendered as tables, the width and choiceColumn extensions can help control the formatting of the table." Is that correct? I thought choiceColumn was just for item type=reference/choice/open-choice.

Controlling column width in a gtable (and maybe other tables) would result in a nicer layout, but there is no documentation for how to indicate a particular column in a table using choiceColumn, and the name choiceColumn itslef seems a little odd for a table column, which is not about choices.
