Is that possibly because in R4 IG.resource.description is a string, not markdown?

the other types - examples for instance the markdown renders fine

I actually have to process as markdown. The type isn't directly relevant (though obviously it's a good trigger to get me to do that

It runs the content through markdownify. Apparently that doesn't handle XHTML tags

neither should any other markdown processor. if anything is, it's only until I get around to getting it not to

common mark handles html tags when i checked.

html tags are prohibited in the fhir spec for security reasons
