Topic: Valid datatype for LOINC answers

view this post on Zulip Monique van Berkum (Jun 08 2021 at 19:40):

Answers in LOINC are not necessarily code. Integer, string, and decimal should be allowed datatypes based on the datatype specified in LOINC. image.png image.png

Is there anything further that I need to do to have this issue addressed?

@Grahame Grieve @Mark Iantorno

this is a question for the #questionnaire channel

view this post on Zulip Monique van Berkum (Jun 23 2021 at 21:51):

Thank you. I've posted it there.

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 25 2021 at 02:51):

@Grahame Grieve Why is it a question for #questionnaire? It's clearly a validator problem. The issue is that there's a LOINC code in Questionnaire.item.code and for some reason the validator thinks that the answer is supposed to be a code - but it's not. It should be an integer.

I assumed that the profile said it has to be a coding

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 25 2021 at 02:55):

Nope

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 25 2021 at 02:57):

This is the profile it's referencing: http://hl7.org/fhir/uv/sdc/2019May/sdc-questionnaireresponse.html

I think that the snapshot is wrong

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Jun 25 2021 at 03:58):

yes. the snapshot for http://hl7.org/fhir/uv/sdc/StructureDefinition/sdc-questionnaireresponse has been generated wrongly. regenerating it on the fly fixes the problem. I guess we should do a technical correction on SDC

view this post on Zulip Lloyd McKenzie (Jun 25 2021 at 04:12):

That's a ballot release, it's not an official release. So it sounds like this is something we just ignore for now and that will go away once SDC publishes officially and we do a technical correction to the SDOH IG to point to the official SDC release?

I hacked around it in the tool for now.
