I vaguely remember someone discussing using Github pages to host a IG, but I couldn't find it via searching and I began to doubt myself. Has anyone done this and, if so, do they have any tips on how to get it setup?

You're welcome. I've found some tweaks to the documented approach since I wrote it up. Jose's workflow is probably the most current.

Also, it was recently brought to my attention that you can talk to Grahame about hosting on fhir.org.
