Stream: IG creation
Topic: Standard IG template location
Jean Duteau (Mar 20 2019 at 16:42):
I'm starting a new IGuide and tried to find a template to start from. There was a post of this back in December 2018 and I didn't see an answer. The template links on the wiki are wrong and I couldn't find anything in GitHub. The two previous IGuides I worked on have quite a bit of customization so I thought it would be easier to start from scratch with a template rather than trying to pare those down. Does anyone have a link for a starting IG template?
David Pyke (Mar 20 2019 at 16:43):
All new templates are due after the May ballot. You may want to wait for that
Jean Duteau (Mar 20 2019 at 16:44):
Yeah, that would be nice, but I'm starting now. :)
David Pyke (Mar 20 2019 at 16:44):
Then the eLTSS IG is fairly simple and might be a good one to start from.
Jean Duteau (Mar 20 2019 at 16:45):
okay, i'll take a look. is it in github?
David Pyke (Mar 20 2019 at 16:45):
yep

Have you decided which framework you want to use - from @Lloyd McKenzie or @Eric Haas?
Jean Duteau (Mar 20 2019 at 16:47):
@Rob Hausam there are different frameworks? my other guides use Lloyd's frameworks but, like I said, I believe they are highly modified for publishing multi-versions.
Eric Haas (Mar 20 2019 at 16:54):
here is my base template: https://healthedata1.github.io/IG-Template2/
Lloyd McKenzie (Mar 20 2019 at 19:23):
Eric's tends to be markdown-centric. Mine will support markdown and HTML. Mine also allows spreadsheet profile authoring. We've made different choices about how to render profiles. I don't publish my template independently, but you can see the current version with a relatively simple IG at https://github.com/hl7/sdc. We expect to combine them into a single authoritative template before the WGM.
