Topic: Spreadsheet authoring questions
Lee Surprenant (Jan 21 2020 at 18:31):
Is the documentation at https://confluence.hl7.org/display/FHIR/FHIR+Spreadsheet+Authoring#FHIRSpreadsheetAuthoring-BindingsTab right?
The column names match the exam ple in sample-ig
but I was looking at US Core as an example and that one uses "extensible" as a value in the Conformance column and has a max-valueset column where the sample-ig has the Extensible column.
Grahame Grieve (Jan 21 2020 at 18:56):
the order doesn't matter
Grahame Grieve (Jan 21 2020 at 18:56):
but that documentation is for resources (base build) not profiles in spreadsheets
Grahame Grieve (Jan 21 2020 at 18:57):
extensible is a valid value in either case though
Lee Surprenant (Jan 21 2020 at 19:28):
oh, i thought this doc covered spreadsheet profile authoring too (e.g. it says this column is for "Profile-only")
Lee Surprenant (Jan 21 2020 at 19:28):
i do see the separate page for spreadsheet profile authoring, but I had assumed that one was just about the structure tab (e.g. nothing about Bindings on that one)
Lee Surprenant (Jan 21 2020 at 19:30):
anyway, I guess I'll add "extensible" as an allowed value on this page.
And as for this new "max-valueset" column I see in US Core, is it safe to assume the tool doesn't do anything with that? Like its just ignored I guess and the real "max-valueset" is computed automatically based on whether the profiled element had a required binding?
Grahame Grieve (Jan 21 2020 at 19:33):
no. if the value is extensible, then the max-valueset column will be checked
Lee Surprenant (Jan 21 2020 at 20:20):
OK, here is my proposed wiki changes based on this info.
- add "extensible" as allowed value for Conformance; with a description like "systems SHALL use the codes specified if applicable"
- remove "Extensible" column; it becomes an allowed value in the Conformance column instead of its own separate boolean
- add the definition of a new column:
max-valueset (Profile-only)
with a description like "The maximum allowable value set, for use when the binding strength is 'extensible' or 'preferred'"
does it sound right? if so, i'll go make those edits now
Grahame Grieve (Jan 21 2020 at 20:30):
yes that sounds right, thanks
