Not sure who to ask about this - @Mark Kramer I notice your name on the ODH IG? @Grahame Grieve your name is on there too...

We have a few ballot comments telling us we should be using the ODH profiles in our IG (eICR). We said in our dispositions that we would do this if the ODH IG was published in time for us to include it when we were ready to publish.

As far as I can tell there isn't a published version of the ODH IG yet? I can only see a CI build (that hasn't been updated in a year) and the ballot site - also from a year ago. http://www.hl7.org/fhir/us/odh/history.cfml

Is it "legal" to include references to profiles that haven't been published? I couldnt' even find a validator.pack file though to use (I _think_ I would need that file to get the dependency to work?)

Need some advice on how to proceed with this...

it hasnt been published

I need to get the final version up on HL7. It has been completed

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:37):

Do you have an ETA on when it will be through all the HL7 hoops?

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:37):

Am I allowed to reference it before it has been published or would I have to wait?

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Aug 27 2019 at 00:37):

We can't publish a guide that references something that isn't published as anything more than 'this is interesting'..''

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:38):

That's what I was afraid of!

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:39):

I guess I'll leave both our occupation templates AND the references to ODH in our IG and see what happens by the time we are ready to publish in a couple of weeks...

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:39):

And just remove the ODH stuff if it's not published in time.

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Aug 27 2019 at 00:40):

the technical publication piece is pretty straight forward now - Lynn can do it in a couple of hours. The approval process.... not so much

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:40):

Yeah, trust me, I am aware of that! :)

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:41):

Well, the approval process for our IG is behind the ODH one, I think (seeing as I'm still making changes) so maybe it will work out.

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:44):

BTW, I find it quite unfair that people voted NEG on our IG for not including the ODH profiles when they don't actually exist yet.

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Aug 27 2019 at 00:47):

wooosh. People ballot unfairly?

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Aug 27 2019 at 00:47):

maybe we should have a hall of infamy

view this post on Zulip Sarah Gaunt (Aug 27 2019 at 00:48):

I know - I should be used to it by now - just seem to have spent a LOT of time dealing with ballot comments about ODH (both CDA and FHIR)... Had to vent!

@Mark Kramer any updates on when this will be published? Unless it's pretty soon it looks like we are going to have to use the simple Occupation History profile we originally created for the eCR IG as we can't reference non-published templates and we need start the publishing process in the next few weeks..
