Stream: IG creation
Topic: Monitoring who dependsOn an IG
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 18 2021 at 07:59):
We have a be-core profile. Is there any way I can see when someone else has another IG that dependsOn be-core?
Supposing that the IG publisher knows this (it needs to get the package), do we have a record of when that happens? Presuming that the other ig does not opt out from providing such statistics
John Moehrke (Feb 18 2021 at 12:16):
I think the registry.fhir.org would know this too. https://registry.fhir.org/
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 18 2021 at 13:02):
I would like to have access to the data, if available, and ideally for other IGs (draft IGs,.)
Lloyd McKenzie (Feb 18 2021 at 15:53):
@David Hay Does your simplifier tool expose this?
David Hay (Feb 18 2021 at 16:50):
You mean http://clinfhir.com/igAnalysis.html ? This doesn't work off simplifier - rather an API that Grahame exposes from data that (I believe) is sent to it whenever the IG publisher runs - even locally.
Here's a screenshot of some of the belgium profiles - there's a view of what profiles are defined / used by an IG, but not the other way around - but shouldn't be tremendously hard to add (depending on the exact requirements and what is in the feed). @Jose Costa Teixeira - I assume you wand a list of IG's that depend on yours? Or would IG's using your profiles be enough?

David Hay (Feb 18 2021 at 17:23):
BTW - here's the feed url: http://test.fhir.org/usage-stats. Each IG (by package id) has a set of data (I'll add the raw data to the UI so we can better see what might be useful in a UI)
There isn't an IG dependency property - you could get Grahame to add it - or we could infer it from this data (as there's a list of extensions used by each profile). But I don't believe there's a list of external profiles used by an IG...
David Hay (Feb 18 2021 at 17:25):
So I added the raw view (so you can see what's in the feed). There is an 'xref' by extension URL but not an equivalent by profile. I suspect the API will need to be updated if you want that...
