Topic: LOINC errors at qa.html
Diana_Ovelgoenne (Jul 02 2021 at 10:03):
Hi I am having an error of Invalid System for all my definitions when using LOINC. Here is an example of the error and the definition I've made:

What am I doing wrong? Or shall I ignore the 100+ errors like this one?
Lloyd McKenzie (Jul 02 2021 at 15:43):
Remove the '/' from the end of your system.
Diana_Ovelgoenne (Aug 10 2021 at 09:17):
I am getting a bunch of warnings as all codes included in http://loinc.org/vs/loinc-rsna-radiology-playbook aren't available It goes for the codes starting with 97340-4 to 98036-7 (they are located at the end of the valueset)

I believe this is because LOINC needs to be updated to version 2.70. I'm working on that now, and I'll post again when it's ready.
Rob Hausam (Aug 10 2021 at 16:57):
@Diana_Ovelgoenne LOINC has now been updated to version 2.70. So the codes that you are looking for should all be included. However, the loinc-rsna-radiology-playbook value set isn't part of the LOINC distribution, and it needs to be updated separately from the packages. So that is going to take a little longer to have updated and loaded on the server.

@Rob Hausam Getting QA errors on LOINC code that appears valid to me:
The code "97509-4" is not valid in the system http://loinc.org; The code provided (http://loinc.org#97509-4) is not valid in the value set 'All codes known to the system' (from http://tx.fhir.org/r4) for 'http://loinc.org#97509-4'
Rob Hausam (Oct 13 2021 at 19:20):
I'm going to check on this and the SNOMED issues, Saul. Both of them should already be available.
Rob Hausam (Oct 14 2021 at 12:42):
@Saul Kravitz Sorry it took me a while to actually get to this, but the 97509-4
code does validate correctly on tx.fhir.org (LOINC 2.71 is loaded as the default). Have you tried clearing your txcache? If that doesn't work, we can investigate further.
Saul Kravitz (Oct 14 2021 at 13:07):
Hi @Rob Hausam .. official build is complaining:

Nathan Davis (Apr 05 2022 at 14:49):
I'm seeing QA errors with valid LOINC codes.
The IG is at http://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/fhir-COVID19Library-ig/branches/master/index.html
the list of LOINC codes that are erring is:
98732-1
98733-9
98734-7
98846-9
98847-7
99314-7
99596-9
99597-7
99772-6
99773-4
99774-2
LA32887-4
I've cleared the TX Cache and double checked all of the codes for accuracy. I am unsure how to resolve these errors. Any help is appreciated.

@Nathan Davis On a quick spot check of some (not all) of the codes it seems they were added in LOINC 2.72 - and currently tx.fhir.org is on 2.71. We don't have a defined update schedule or dedicated resources for this now. It's mostly operating on the "squeaky wheel" rule - so asking here as you did is probably the best way to get it to happen. I'll look at getting LOINC updated this morning.
Nathan Davis (Apr 05 2022 at 15:19):
@Rob Hausam Thank you!
Rob Hausam (Apr 06 2022 at 02:49):
@Nathan Davis LOINC is now updated on tx.fhir.org to version 2.72. Hopefully that will take care of your issues.
Nathan Davis (Apr 06 2022 at 15:27):
@Rob Hausam Thank you! That did the trick.
Nathan Davis (Apr 06 2022 at 15:39):
@Rob Hausam did this update include LOINC answer codes? I have a couple that are still erring.
Rob Hausam (Apr 06 2022 at 15:40):
Yes, it should have included everything in the release (of the parts that we support - which includes the answer lists).
Rob Hausam (Apr 06 2022 at 15:41):
What are the errors and the codes that are erroring?
Nathan Davis (Apr 06 2022 at 15:43):
The code "LA30835-5" is not valid in the system http://loinc.org; The code provided (http://loinc.org#LA30835-5) is not valid in the value set 'All codes known to the system' (from http://tx.fhir.org/r4) for 'http://loinc.org#LA30835-5'
Nathan Davis (Apr 06 2022 at 15:44):
and this code as well
LA30834-8
Rob Hausam (Apr 06 2022 at 15:53):
Where did those codes come from? I don't find them when I search the answer lists with the LOINC browser, either.
Rob Hausam (Apr 06 2022 at 15:56):
Those codes aren't present in the answer list file in the LOINC distribution (for either 2.72 or 2.71).
Nathan Davis (Apr 06 2022 at 16:09):
I'll have to find look and find out where I got them from.
