Topic: IG STU version vs the numbered version
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 01:18):
There is an IG parameter for the numbered parameter (1.0.0) in the both the control ig.json file ("fixed-business-version"), ig resource ig.xml ( IG.version) and in the publisher itself ( {{site.data.fhir.ig.version}} ), but no parameter assigned to the the HL7 IG STU version. Although I find it both combersome and confusing to have 2 parallel versioning systems, at least we should be able access both if we need to within the publishing framework. It could be an HL7 extension http://hl7.org/fhir/StructureDefinition/dumb-hl7-version
on the IG resource to access it programatically.
Rick Geimer (Feb 05 2019 at 01:21):
I think the HL7 IG STU version has just been part of the title so far. Is that not sufficient?
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 01:22):
I don't view as part of the title, I view it as a version.
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 01:23):
like an edition
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 01:26):
besides if I say "US Core STU2". everybody is going to think US Core for FHIR DSTU2 not US Core IG version STU2. So I think its better to keep them separate.
Rick Geimer (Feb 05 2019 at 01:27):
Agreed.
Grahame Grieve (Feb 05 2019 at 11:58):
no parameter assigned to the the HL7 IG STU version
I don't know what that means
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 18:05):
I thought I was clear. but here is an example:
IG Title = US Meds Implementation Guide
IG Version = 1.1.0
-
this is clearly defined and can be referenced by these parameters:
- the control ig.json file ("fixed-business-version")
- ig resource ig.xml ( IG.version)
- in the publisher itself ( {{site.data.fhir.ig.version}} )
IG "STU Sequence" = STU2
- what is this really? I think of it as an HL7 version that gets easily conflated with the FHIR Version.
- How should it relate to the version above -or should it?
- Currently it cannot be reference by any parameter (except for my custom _config.yml one "site. hl7_version"
I construct the IG name using these three parts separately....
e.g. {{title}} {{hl7_version}} (release {{version}}) ==> US Meds Implementation Guide STU2 (release 1.1.0)
Grahame Grieve (Feb 05 2019 at 18:48):
the STU sequence only appears in package-list.json, yes? It links a ballot run together. where else would you like to use it?
Eric Haas (Feb 05 2019 at 18:55):
OK that makes it clearer to me - its a ballot artifact....
So is it part of the official title? In other words do we even need to display it in a published IG ( versus a ballot version ) outside of the History of course . If not that would be Great....
For example
e.g. {{title}} (release {{version}}) ==> US Meds Implementation Guide (release 1.1.0) everywhere and remove any mention of STU from the rest of the IG ( Llike I do in the publish box )
Grahame Grieve (Feb 06 2019 at 10:15):
I don't know. FMG question, I guess
Eric Haas (Feb 06 2019 at 18:41):
OK will bring it up there...
