Topic: File I/O error in latest publisher version
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:30):
and now it's gone away
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:34):
Excitingly, it's only happening on my local.
John Moehrke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:44):
I suggest you do a backup
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:44):
Constantly. I have backups on my backups
Jose Costa Teixeira (Aug 13 2020 at 14:49):
I suggest you pause your backup, because that looks like a file locking issue. :)
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:50):
That makes sense. Thanks! I don't have control of it as it's a corp laptop.
Jose Costa Teixeira (Aug 13 2020 at 14:51):
I have similar things on windows (not with that symptom). Perhaps it's something new, but in my case a restart works fine
John Moehrke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:53):
You might want to tag your GIT clones as to be ignored by the backup, or at least the temp and output directories
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:53):
I don't have control of it. It's all handled by the IT team to backup all changed files.
John Moehrke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:53):
then get a better IT team
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:54):
Nope, just need better remote control software.
John Moehrke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:54):
I find it really odd that you can't mark directories to not be backedup
David Pyke (Aug 13 2020 at 14:55):
Welcome to my new corporate laptop reality.
Grahame Grieve (Aug 13 2020 at 20:05):
