Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 24 2020 at 11:26):
How can I add a blank line to HTML content? The publication engine seems to strip them
Grahame Grieve (Feb 24 2020 at 12:02):
blank line in the html source or in the rendered html?
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 24 2020 at 12:42):
rendered
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 24 2020 at 12:42):
in the output
Lloyd McKenzie (Feb 24 2020 at 15:30):
I presume the question is with markdown? (If so, @Eric Haas ). If using XHTML, then <br/> works fine
Eric Haas (Feb 24 2020 at 18:43):
I use <br/> whenever I want an extra line For a line break, you can also add either a backslash \ or two blank spaces at the end of the line
David Pyke (Feb 24 2020 at 18:46):
The end result looks the same in this
Eric Haas (Feb 24 2020 at 18:46):
yeah zulip markdown is not predictable
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 24 2020 at 18:47):
Ok I will have to check what is removing the line breaks from my XHTML
Jose Costa Teixeira (Feb 26 2020 at 06:06):
Just an update: the line breaks were not being removed, I just changed to pandoc for editing and found that it does remove line breaks (works neatly otherwise). It's being investigated.
