Today I was looking for the most authoratative definition of FHIR's NDJSON bulk data format and I stumbled onto this page: https://www.hl7.org/fhir/nd-json.html

Firstly, it says ns-json

second, it wraps the JSON lines in an extra { } :distraught:

I found FHIR#22625 and FHIR#22656 for the first one, but nothing for the second one

From our experience at connectathon, I'm pretty sure its wrong...can someone confirm quick and I'll open a JIRA issue for it?

Yup, looks like an error since that example wouldn't be compliant with the spec at http://ndjson.org/

view this post on Zulip Lee Surprenant (Mar 17 2020 at 14:52):

interestingly, i'd never even seen this page before. they would have been better just to link to http://ndjson.org/

view this post on Zulip Lee Surprenant (Mar 17 2020 at 14:52):

does the bulk IG link to either of these spots?

view this post on Zulip Lee Surprenant (Mar 17 2020 at 14:53):

in the place i was looking, it only gave the mime type, but i didn't look all over

view this post on Zulip Lee Surprenant (Mar 17 2020 at 14:53):

personally, i think it would be good to turn that mime type into a link to this page (once its fixed)

view this post on Zulip Dan Gottlieb (Mar 17 2020 at 14:57):

The bulk IG links to it as an underlying standard at https://hl7.org/fhir/uv/bulkdata/export/index.html#underlying-standards, but agree that the FHIR page needs to be fixed and should probably also link to the spec.

thanks dan. opened https://jira.hl7.org/browse/FHIR-26598

it's just a place holder right now. Since I wrote it I can be pretty sure that the wrapping { } are a copy/paste error
