The May Connectathon is coming up in just under a month! In the Bulk Data track, we'll be testing FHIR bulk data clients and servers, with a focus on the changes in the upcoming STU2 version (previously known as 1.5).

If you're planning to participate and bring a server or an open source client, please add or update your entry on the tracking spreadsheet.

Also, be sure to register for the Connectathon ASAP - registration closes on April 30th and the early bird rate ends tomorrow.

@Dan Gottlieb Was wondering if @Jonathan Dahmer and I could jump on the zoom meeting with you to go deeper in the client auth process w/JWTS, etc. Do you have time this afternoon?

view this post on Zulip Dan Gottlieb (May 18 2021 at 18:01):

Sure - 3pm ET? @Vladimir Ignatov would that work for you as well?

view this post on Zulip Karen Fairchild (May 18 2021 at 18:02):

Works for us! Thanks!

view this post on Zulip Vladimir Ignatov (May 18 2021 at 18:03):

Yes, I can join

view this post on Zulip Dan Gottlieb (May 18 2021 at 18:05):

Great! Also, anyone else in the track inteterested in talking about bulk auth is welcome to join as well :)

view this post on Zulip Josh Mandel (May 18 2021 at 18:18):

I'll try to join as well (should have 25min free)

Our day 2 check in is taking place now on Whova. If you're participating in the track, please join!

As discussed, please add a sentence or two to the highlighted sections of the track report out describing what you worked on (or are currently working on) at the connectathon: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D4MoLfkITjLIREn1Os62SxIlW4THbox_aNm7nPt1Ctk/edit

@Isaac Vetter @Aaron Beal trying to find out if you have an Epic bulk data that uses security. The server listed in the bulk data May 2021 Connectathon spreadsheet here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12flCQgi9jB76ZRMJZv_bnzirua1wRUOmVVhruF3ObCU/edit#gid=0) appears to be unsecure. We want to run some tests against your server and would like to exercise the auth part of bulk data .

@Zameer Sura we are trying to test against your secure R4 Cerner bulk data server listed in the bulk data May 2021 Connectathon spreadsheet here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12flCQgi9jB76ZRMJZv_bnzirua1wRUOmVVhruF3ObCU/edit#gid=0) . We can get tokens but we are not able to get data from https://fhir-ehr.stagingcerner.com/beta/ec2458f2-1e24-41c8-b71b-0e701af7583d/Patient/$export . Getting a 404 error. Is your bulk data server running?

We actually do not have anyone supporting the Bulk Data track for this connectathon but our server is yet running. I was able to run some quick tests and was able to get successful responses.
If you have the X-Request-Id from the request you made, maybe i can take a quick look.

Hi @Zameer Sura , following up on Karen's initial message, the X-Request-Id for my most recent attempt is 'X-Request-Id': '5ea0f22f-f2d0-4149-ac18-1e8c9d5dce94' when attempting to query the fhir url listed in the Google Doc Bulk Server list. This is after i successfully am able to retrieve a Bearer Token from the Token URL using the keys listed there. The status lists as '404 Not Found'

Scratch the above, i believe i found my issue. i am able to get a 202 response now

view this post on Zulip Zameer Sura (May 19 2021 at 20:10):

From my logs what i can see is that the request was made to /beta/ec2458f2-1e24-41c8-b71b-0e701af7583d/$export/$export. There is an extra /$export present.

Thanks Zameer, i see my issue now. There were additional pieces of the URL being built dynamically. Thanks!

@Zameer Sura One last question -is your Cerner secure R4 bulk data server a production server or is this one just a prototype for your production bulk data FHIR server you will be releasing into production? Trying to understand if you will be adding any of the optional bulk data API search parameters to it.

view this post on Zulip Zameer Sura (May 19 2021 at 21:53):

This is just an early prototype that returns mocked data. Our production instance is yet under initial development so it is yet a bit early to comment on what all optional parameters it will support.

view this post on Zulip Michael Turman (May 20 2021 at 13:42):

@Karen Fairchild I am on the Cerner team responsible for our FHIR bulk data server. Which search parameters are you interested in? Understanding your use case if helpful too.

view this post on Zulip Karen Fairchild (May 26 2021 at 22:19):

@Michael Turman the types of search parameters we are interested in for bulk data are _since, _type and _typeFilter. For example, we would want to pull various recourses since a given data as we build up data incrementally. And wtihin Observation, we only want certain types of observations like lab results and vitals. Is Cerner bulk data supporting those?

view this post on Zulip Michael Turman (May 27 2021 at 15:57):

Thanks for the response, Karen. This helps inform the priority we give to search params.

I expect Cerner's bulk server to support those params over time - maybe not with the first turn of the crank.
