We have suplements that can be dispense in diferents ways "formats", pills(pill pack) or bottles. The Images, descriptions, costs can be vary between them. We are thinking in have one medication for the general supplement and one medicationknowlege for each "format" using the packaging type to specify if is a bottle or a pill pack. But we have an issue with medication request that is only link with a medication and we need to specify the format.

Does you coding system provide different codes for the different formats? Does Supplement A as a pill have a different code than Supplement A as a bottle?

Yes, they have differents codes

Then they would be different Medication instances (and different MedicationKnowledge instances).
