I'm interested in searching the registry for all Patient profiles (or, in general, profiles of any given resource). I see we can filter by resource type, but that just yields all packages that contain a Patient resource. Any suggestions?

@Spencer Crosswy Hi! The FHIR Package Registry is indeed really meant to find the FHIR package you need based on a bunch of filters. Like, packages for the US realm containing a ValueSet related to Covid.
And just to be sure, the resource filter 'Patient' will currently give you (packages containing) instances of Patient, not profiles on Patient. For that you will need the filter on instances of StructureDefinition (which profiles are) and there currently is no way to explicitly filter on the base type.

What's the use case behind your question? Are you looking to find specific patient profiles, or do you really need all Patient profiles ever published in a FHIR package to run statistics on them?

I think a reasonable use case is "what IGs should I look at before defining yet another Patient profile?"

I also just noticed that I can't search by package ID.

Indeed, a known issue that's being worked on: https://jira.hl7.org/secure/RapidBoard.jspa?rapidView=48&view=detail&selectedIssue=HSCR-150

How would you like the Registry to help you answer that question? Woud a list of every package containing a Patient profile, preferably ordered by popularity and potentially filtered by jurisdiction, give you enough of an answer? So you can browse those and see if they have the changes you need.

I will be discussing the addition of a filter for 'Profiles on Patient/Observation/etc.' with Wayne and Grahame very soon, so hope to be able to offer that later this year.

That seems like a good start. I'd also suggest keyword filtering so I can find other Patient profiles related to "genetics" or "covid".
