Topic: R4 release is happening
Grahame Grieve (Dec 28 2018 at 00:09):
I am releasing R4 of FHIR. (yay!) Part of this process is to take down the old R3 at http://hl7.org/fhir, and then upload the new R4. The take down is happening, so http://hl7.org/fhir is broken for a little while (a day or so). R3 will remain available at http://hl7.org/fhir/STU3
Corey Spears (Dec 28 2018 at 21:43):
Grahame. Thanks to you and the team for all of your great work on making this happen.
One small note. I noticed that going to http://fhir.hl7.org redirects to http://hl7.org/implement/standards/fhir/ which shows STU3 and states "This is the Current officially released version of FHIR"
Not sure if you had just not gotten to it yet, but I wanted to make sure you were aware.

change over is work in progress
Grahame Grieve (Dec 29 2018 at 05:47):
ok, everything is copied up now. I still have to post the extension definitions for the versions - tomorrow morning my time

if you're not seeing R4 where you think it should be visible, remember to flush your cache before escalating

Should http://hl7.org/implement/standards/fhir/history.html be reflecting R4 under the Major Milestones, and in table below ? Thanks

Pietro Ghezzi (Dec 30 2018 at 17:16):
@Grahame Grieve I just saw that for R4 the json schema for each resource is no more available (ex: http://hl7.org/fhir/STU3/Patient.schema.json). Is it permanent or they will be added? Thanks.
Grahame Grieve (Dec 30 2018 at 20:25):
that is permanent. There is only one JSON schema now
Lloyd McKenzie (Dec 30 2018 at 20:47):
We have distinct XML schemas for each FHIR release. Why would we not do the same for JSON?
Grahame Grieve (Dec 30 2018 at 20:55):

Pascal Pfiffner (Dec 31 2018 at 10:14):
As @Nilesh Pagare pointed out, the versions page still doesn't include the R4 changes for me: http://hl7.org/fhir/history.html
Paul Knapp (Dec 31 2018 at 21:15):
@Grahame Grieve The page footer refers to this as: FHIR Release 4 Candidate - can we remove Candidate?
Grahame Grieve (Jan 01 2019 at 19:55):
ok thanks both. Copy error on the first, all pages now fixed
Paul Lynch (Jan 02 2019 at 16:19):
On the "history" page @Pascal Pfiffner and @Nilesh Pagare mentioned (http://hl7.org/fhir/history.html), in addition to not seeing R4, I also noticed that the link for STU3 points to DSTU2. (Actually, all the links under "Major milestones" point to DSTU2).
Paul Denning (Jan 02 2019 at 16:55):
The box at the top of http://hl7.org/fhir/ says This is the Current officially released version of FHIR, which is R4.
For a full list of available versions, see the Directory of published versions .
The link for "R4" points to http://hl7.org/fhir/history.html which has not been updated, but the link for "Directory of published versions" points to http://hl7.org/fhir/directory.cfml which seems to be up to date
