So I'm not sure where to ask this question, but it might as well be here, I think.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 06 2019 at 11:35):
There's this file here: https://github.com/FHIR/ig-registry/blob/master/fhir-ig-list.json
Grahame Grieve (Oct 06 2019 at 11:35):
it's got 2 lists in it:
- a list of all the published IGs, which we are working on growing
- a list of the feeds that you can use to watch new publications of IGs
Grahame Grieve (Oct 06 2019 at 11:36):
we're happy with how that's managed - people make a PR through github
Grahame Grieve (Oct 06 2019 at 11:37):
but at Atlanta a few of us were reviewing this file, and wondered whether we should rename it (would keep it in the same place, same management), just rename the file and/or split it into 2 files.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 06 2019 at 11:37):
We didn't make any decision, just decided to ask the question. So, does anyone have any opinion on this?
Lloyd McKenzie (Oct 06 2019 at 15:14):
The designer in me leans towards splitting, but I don't have any reason beyond gut reaction and I certainly don't feel strongly.
Ward Weistra (Oct 07 2019 at 07:40):
I think that was the consensus here too. It sounds cleaner to split it up (or at least reflect both uses in the file name), but keeping it together wouldn't be a problem either. Right @Martijn Harthoorn ?
Martijn Harthoorn (Oct 07 2019 at 08:14):
Yes. Follow the Unix philosophy. :)
Grahame Grieve (Oct 07 2019 at 09:17):
what's the unix philosophy? For advanced users only? We hate people who hate typing?
Martijn Harthoorn (Oct 07 2019 at 09:20):
Do one thing only and do it well.
