we just made further comment on GF#20743. Further comments sought (I think this is relevant in India)
Kumar Satyam (Sep 09 2019 at 05:53):
In India most of the forms that we fill ask for following addresses.
- Permanent Address
- Current address
- Address of communication.
Apart from above companies do have a "registered address" which may be different from their business address.
Following the discussions on different usecases for Address.use , I see extensible Address.use codes as a possible solution.
Grahame Grieve (Sep 09 2019 at 05:54):
we don't think that extensible codes is a useful way forward
Kumar Satyam (Oct 23 2019 at 10:07):
What would be the proposed solution to add country specific AddressUse .
Grahame Grieve (Oct 23 2019 at 11:13):
what's the use?
Kumar Satyam (Oct 23 2019 at 11:18):
To indicate "Address of communication" or "permanent address" to map entries indicated in paper forms.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 23 2019 at 11:22):
I'm not sure what that means? It isn't a home address?
Kumar Satyam (Oct 23 2019 at 11:38):
"Address of correspondence" for example can be home or office or some other temporary address.
A person can choose where the communication should be redirected . I am thinking field should be used to indicate this choice "Address.text" or may be an extension. Typically people move around in cities for job or treatment purpose during that duration they would want the communication to be at that location. "Permanent Address" typically is home address which would not change like "parents home".
Kumar Satyam (Oct 23 2019 at 11:41):
However I think we could wait till we have more concrete implementation use cases. This was one of the things on top of my mind when I saw the discussion on Official address. therefore brought it up.
Grahame Grieve (Oct 24 2019 at 20:17):
@Brian Postlethwaite @Cooper Thompson has this use case come up before?
Brian Postlethwaite (Oct 24 2019 at 20:56):
Not specifically.
