Topic: XUA profile (or alternative) for FHIR?
Morten Ernebjerg (Dec 04 2019 at 08:41):
I was looking at the IHE XUA profile and trying to understand (as an IHE newbie) how, if at all, it can used or adapted for FHIR-based systems. As far as I can tell, it is not one of the profiles that exist in a FHIR flavor, e.g. it does not appear on the Category:FHIR page on the IHE wiki. Did I miss smt.? - or are there perhaps IHE alternatives that would work in a FHIRy/RESTy setting?
René Spronk (Dec 04 2019 at 10:39):
The FHIR alternative is OAuth2. There is a spec on how one could carry SAML tokens in OAuth2 if you're looking to bridge XDS.b and FHIR.
John Moehrke (Dec 04 2019 at 14:11):
yes, see IUA profile

IUA is being revised, as the standards it has used have revised. There is indeed a method in IUA for carrying XUA assertions, if that is the desire.

@René Spronk @John Moehrke Thanks!
