Topic: QEDm and Search Modifiers
Richard Kavanagh (Sep 29 2019 at 13:18):
Looking at the current text form QEDm, it contains statements relating to search parameters as per the attached.
A couple of questions:
1) None of the search parameters described within the text is of type string, does this then intend to refer to other search parameters not mentioned, or does it mean the string component of tokens (which are mentioned) for example CodeableConcept.text? - or is it both cases?
2) Regardless of the above, why is this included? I can understand the "shall" with regards to ":exact" but why exclude the others?

Side observation: You can't ignore modifiers as a server - if unknown, one shall reject the query (as per the FHIR spec). As such the text in QEDm will need to be updated..
Richard Kavanagh (Sep 29 2019 at 16:07):
Thanks, @René Spronk - I was not aware of that myself. and I'm aware of implementations that don't do this. It is however clear when you read the spec.
