Topic: PDQm Parameter modifiers
Monika Moser (Jun 24 2019 at 10:33):
Hi again, another question concerning PDQm popped up.
:exact
is the only search parameter modifier used in PDQm so far, correct?
Is there a special reason why the modifier :contains
is not allowed in PDQm? It would be useful for searching for addresses e.g. in scenarios when a streetname is available. Because right now as far as we understood it if we just search for "PINETREE" we would not find addresses like "10 PINETREE", right?
John Moehrke (Jul 01 2019 at 14:58):
Good points. We initially just took the same use-cases from PDQ (which uses HL7 v2) and minimally supported them. Thus advancements like your recommending could be added as useful additional (options). It would be good to have gotten this comment on the PublicComment period that just closed for the PRIM profile which is about a broader support for manageing patient identities.

@John Moehrke I just started to look into it in depth, sorry if I am late.
But I thought it would be nice to ask those questions anyway.
Maybe I found another thing to think about:
birthdate
This parameter of type date, when supplied, specifies the birth date and time of the person whose information is being queried.
Time should be not available here, since the datatype is date and not dateTime, right?
John Moehrke (Jul 03 2019 at 11:53):
yup. I don't think this got noticed . There is a core extension for inclusion of dateTime. time is important for the pediactric usecases.
John Moehrke (Jul 03 2019 at 14:10):
I submitted a CP to fix the date time issue.
Richard Kavanagh (Jul 03 2019 at 22:36):
I submitted a CP for this back in April..
