Topic: Trying to build CQL tools from github source

The gradlew build command fails with the error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.codehaus.groovy.vmplugin.v7.Java7
Any ideas why this is failing? Any ideas how to fix it?

We've been working this in a separate thread, but for the benefit of others that may be searching on this same issue, we've recommended submitting a Github issue so we can dig in in more detail on a fix.
