Topic: Support JSON in ProviderDirectory scripts?

Hi, another question... what's the process to translate an XML script into JSON? Who do we talk to? Is there anything we can do to help translate the script from one data format to another? We're finishing up the conformance tests for Practitioner, Organization, Location, and Endpoint; but are pretty much exclusively JSON. We don't mind supporting XML; but for us, since we use a JSON data store, we need to get everything set up with JSON before support XML.

Currently, I am maintaining the TestScripts and corresponding fixtures within the Touchstone environment. The TestScripts and fixtures for the Connectathon events (starting with Connectathon 10, Sep 2015) have been committed to the FHIR gforge SVN repository, here - http://gforge.hl7.org/svn/fhir/trunk/connectathons.

The ProviderDirectory tests were originally developed for the Argonaut Mini-Connectathon held in Aug 2016 and only included the XML format. I have been porting them forward for use in the main Connectathon events since then.

It's interesting that you asked about the ProviderDirectory tests as I have just started to look at re-implementing them for the May 2017 FHIR Connectathon 15 event. It looks like the PractitionerRole resource type will need to be incorporated for FHIR Release 3. I was also thinking about creating JSON versions of these tests.

Thank you for maintaining the tests! And +1 for JSON support. Happy to run through them before or during the May Connectathon.

I'll let you know when I have Connectathon15 ProviderDirectory tests uploaded to Touchstone and I'll make sure I have JSON versions for you.

@Abigail Watson I was able to carve out some time over the past few days to work on the Provider Directories test track for the Madrid Connectathon15 event. With Brian Postlethwaite's approval I have updated the Test Track Proposal page, http://wiki.hl7.org/index.php?title=201705_Provider_Directories_and_Scheduling, and the corresponding TestScripts in both JSON and XML format. I have uploaded these TestScripts to Touchstone and you can find them under the FHIR3-0-0-Connectathon15/ProviderDirectories test group, https://touchstone.aegis.net/touchstone/testdefinitions?selectedTestGrp=/FHIR3-0-0-Connectathon15/ProviderDirectories&contentEntry=TEST_SCRIPTS.
Please check them out when you have a chance and let me know if you have any questions.

Sweet!
I was just cleaning up our query to the Epic sandbox, and it's all working brilliantly! Very, very happy.

We just need to get the app passing the Provider Directory scripts, and I think we're going to have a fully commercializable product for patient-facing clinic kiosks, hospital directory services, call schedules, credentialing services, etc. Then it will be all about finding preorders/customers/sponsors.

I'll be working on the Provider Directory asap.

Thank you much! We got the ProviderDirectory components completed, and are now ready to start deploying provider directories, comparison shopping, healthcare steerage, geomapping utilities, and public health apps. :)
