Any read ahead materials?

@Jason Walonoski: http://build.fhir.org/ ;p

If you've read all this, then you're good to go

view this post on Zulip Jason Walonoski (Nov 03 2016 at 15:58):

@Michel I've read it, but it keeps changing on me. :)

I would really like to develop a small SMART on FHIR app and run it inside a test-container (Epic?). Will that be possible at the DevDays? Or is there any specific guidance on that besides the FHIR and SMART on FHIR specs? Thanks.

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Nov 04 2016 at 11:21):

if nothing else, you can run against my server or the smart test server

view this post on Zulip Jason Walonoski (Nov 04 2016 at 12:54):

@Michael van der Zel I'm in the same boat -- want to make a small app and run it against both Epic and Cerner.

view this post on Zulip Michael van der Zel (Nov 04 2016 at 16:29):

@Grahame Grieve Sure, but I was wondering if there would also be Epic and/or Cerner test installs (and a bit guidance) available.

view this post on Zulip Michael van der Zel (Nov 05 2016 at 19:21):

@Jason Walonoski Great! Hope to work together on that than.

view this post on Zulip Kevin Shekleton (Nov 07 2016 at 12:59):

@Jason Walonoski & @Michael van der Zel - there will be engineers from both Epic & Cerner at this that will be walking everyone through getting SMART apps running against their respective EHRs

view this post on Zulip Michael van der Zel (Nov 08 2016 at 14:43):

@Kevin Shekleton Excelent. Btw I saw a "Decision as a Service" tweet from you. That looks very interesting. Hope to talk to you about that w/ SMART & FHIR.

Hello track participants! Josh, Danielle, Matt, and I are looking forward to seeing you all next week. Please plan to attend Josh's SMART presentation on Wednesday at 10:30. Then, during the hands-on time that afternoon, we'll secure a projector and both Epic and Cerner will show how to integrate with our respective platforms and ecosystems.

We are excited to see the ideas that you're planning to build on top of FHIR! For those that would like a starting point, we will have a javascript starter app available to load a Patient and some of their Observations, which you can continue customizing throughout the conference. Whatever app you start with, both EHR vendors will allow you to register your app urls so that you can simulate an application launch.

For Cerner's tutorial, please ensure you have a GitHub account, and for the best experience, have Ruby installed to assist with app deployment. We'll also have alternate deployment instructions for those without Ruby.

We're excited to meet you, learn with you, and hack with you next week!

@Michel Rutten Ehm. build.fhir.org gives Not Found?

view this post on Zulip Grahame Grieve (Nov 11 2016 at 07:51):

In case you missed it in the morning slides, you can find available FHIR servers out at http://bit.ly/fhirdevdays2016

view this post on Zulip Dennis Patterson (Nov 16 2016 at 09:34):

Please list what you're hacking on out at http://bit.ly/devdays2016apps so we can see all the apps that are in progress

view this post on Zulip Dennis Patterson (Nov 16 2016 at 10:34):

For anybody looking to get started on the SMART tutorial and demo app, you can find it at http://engineering.cerner.com/smart-on-fhir-tutorial/ . At 1:30 if you meet around the Apps in the EHR table, we'll head over to try to find an open room where Cerner and Epic will provide more information about how to plug into our EHRs and ecosystems

Right now, the devdays2016apps document is read-only/request-access -- you may just want to open up the permissions

view this post on Zulip Jason Walonoski (Nov 16 2016 at 11:41):

Epic url is https://open.epic.com/MyApps

view this post on Zulip Dennis Patterson (Nov 16 2016 at 12:19):

sorry about that, @Jason Walonoski ! I've updated the permissions

at 1:30, The Richard will be occupied for a CDA talk, as per your schedules. In the announcements, I believe they said The Chris would be occupied. So, we'll see if the Muhammad or the Oprah are available

We are heading to the Oprah now

From a newbie, that went pretty smooth... ;-) just was able to connect to Epic's Sandbox with our HealthShare integration system through FHIR!

Great, @Marcel den Ouden! Would you mind adding that to the tracking spreadsheet? http://bit.ly/devdays2016apps

@Marcel den Ouden - if you integrated with Cerner, can you update the tracking spreadsheet?

Friendly reminder to track participants to please update http://bit.ly/devdays2016apps with whatever app you've worked on, demo/tutorial app or otherwise. Thanks!

Done!

I have some wrap-up slides for our track at http://bit.ly/apps-in-ehr-2016-wrapup . For those who listed that they created an app (i.e. @Marcel den Ouden , @Jason Walonoski , and @Michael van der Zel ), I created a placeholder slide where you can post a screenshot and any other information (feel free to expand to 2 slides if needed).

view this post on Zulip Dennis Patterson (Nov 18 2016 at 10:35):

Anybody else who created an app is free to contribute, as well. Please have your updates made by 2:30 at the latest
