Topic: SNOMED terms with multiple FSNs?
Jean Duteau (Mar 15 2022 at 16:39):
Does anyone know of any SNOMED terms that have multiple FSNs? I'm looking for an example for a course I'm teaching. The SNOMED logical model document implies that there could be multiple FSNs and that one would be marked as Preferred, but I haven't found yet. :)

There are no concepts in the 20220131 version of the International Edition that have >1 active FSN. However, there are >135k that have >1 active or inactive FSN. As a random example of the later, 468528008 Denture clasp mold (physical object) - the FSN was changed to the US spelling of mould.

Some national releases have translated FSNs - eg and English FSN and a ,say, Spanish FSN.

I don't believe you're allowed to have multiple FSNs in the same language though - it is not a place for "synonymy".
